Newborn photography Print Awards.

What a thrilling experience I had at this year’s Iris Awards and  the new category ‘Newborn photography print awards!

Firstly I am so excited to announce that I came home with four awards from the Newborn photography print awards in Christchurch:  resulting in three Bronze and one Silver Distinction. It has been a whirlwind of emotions, and we couldn’t be happier with how things turned out.

The competition this year was incredibly strong, with so many stunning entries from photographers across the country and Australia. you can see them here https://irisawards.com/2024-newborn/

Getting these awards is truly an honour. My three bronze
awards are from work over the past couple of years, The Silver
Distinction was as more recent and such special achievement, highlighting the
excellence and depth of my work, how exciting that I am rapidly progressing!!

One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been the
friendships we have built over the years. The camaraderie among photographers
is truly something special. I have met so many wonderful people at these
events, and it’s been amazing to connect with others who share our passion for
capturing the world through a lens. The support and encouragement that I have
received from the girls has been invaluable.

I was thrilled when Newborn photography was introduced to the categories this year at the NZIPP Iris Awards https://irisawards.com/2024-iris/ and is more than just capturing adorable baby photos—it’s all about preserving fleeting moments In those first few weeks of life, babies change
rapidly, and each tiny detail, from their delicate features to their first
sleepy smiles, is a treasure. Newborn photography allows families to hold onto
these precious memories forever, providing a tangible way to look back on those
early days (which we all know is such a blur with time)

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the competition
organizers, the judges, and all our friends and supporters. I am so grateful
for this recognition and the ongoing friendships that make these experiences so
memorable.
